Highercombe is 900 yards from wild, open moorland with miles of footpaths descending into pretty villages and wooded coombes. Tarr Steps, an ancient causeway across the river Bartle, is only 2 miles from the house, and several fine Inns serve excellent food at lunchtimes and evenings. Dulverton lies 2 ½ miles away with all of its amenities and shops. |
The area is ideal for walking, riding, fishing, all country sporting pursuits and has something to interest everyone.
From Dulverton, passing the Post Office on the left, take the B3223 (signposted Exford). Follow the picturesque wooded road up the hill for approximately 2½ miles; after a sharp left-hand bend. Highercombe is signposted on the right-hand side.
